The study has shown that 45% of them developed memory problems such as dementia compared to those who have no sleep-disordered breathing with 31% result.

In relation, researchers have concluded that the drop in oxygen levels by the sleep-disordered breathing may contribute to developing memory problems and dementia. Researcher Kristine Yaffe, MD added that this prevalence will have a large impact as to the public health.
